Environmental Health Engineering
Introduction

The field of environmental health engineering aims to educate skilled and competent professionals to identify, plan, manage, and control environmental factors in order to ensure, maintain, and improve human health. This field has been established, implemented, and sustained for over fifty years in the universities and higher education centers of the country as one of the fundamental disciplines in the field of health and the environment.
Environmental health engineering, as a branch of health sciences, controls external factors that affect human health. This is achieved through the identification, monitoring, and evaluation of the interrelationships between environmental elements (such as water, soil, air, etc.) and human health, and ultimately through planning, designing, managing, and controlling all of these elements, both natural and human-made, to ensure the preservation and enhancement of human health and well-being. In this field, in addition to health and safety, aesthetic aspects are also considered in line with the needs and expectations of the community.
Based on this, the most important goal and program of environmental health is perceived as the study of harmful environmental factors to human health, and the diagnosis, prevention, elimination, and control of the adverse effects of these factors. Environmental health explicitly pursues human health and public health as its main goal and directly focuses on the quality of the environment and the preservation of ecosystem health.

Job skills

The mission of the doctoral program in environmental health engineering is to provide specialized human resources to meet the needs of society in the fields of education, research, implementation, consultancy, and management. It aims to improve public health and welfare, produce and expand knowledge and technologies for environmental preservation and improvement, and provide practical solutions for the sustainable use of environmental resources. Additionally, the program seeks to enhance national economic development by building capacity in reducing environmental pollution and its associated damages through the development of knowledge, awareness, and research to achieve efficient and practical methods.
Therefore, the philosophy of the environmental health engineering program is to educate graduates who possess complete knowledge and skills in the areas of communication and interaction skills, management, education and consultancy, research, policy-making, and planning, and service provision for environmental health control and provision.
