This is achieved through the identification, monitoring, and evaluation of the interrelationships between environmental elements (such as water, soil, air, etc.) and human health, and ultimately through planning, designing, managing, and controlling all of these elements, both natural and human-made, to ensure the preservation and enhancement of human health and well-being. In this field, in addition to health and safety, aesthetic aspects are also considered in line with the needs and expectations of the community.
Based on this, the most important goal and program of environmental health is perceived as the study of harmful environmental factors to human health, and the diagnosis, prevention, elimination, and control of the adverse effects of these factors. Environmental health explicitly pursues human health and public health as its main goal and directly focuses on the quality of the environment and the preservation of ecosystem health.
