Mahmoud Sadeghi was born in 1962 in the city of Qom. He finished high school in 1981. He entered the seminary of Qom from October 1981 and passed the basic courses and the highest level of Islamic jurisprudence and principles. Simultaneously with his seminary education, he started his university education in 1985. He completed a bachelors degree in judicial law at the University of Tehran (1990), a masters degree (1993) and a doctorate in private law at Tarbiat Modarres University May 2000). He was employed by Tarbiat Modarres University in October 2000 and was promoted to the rank of associate professor in 2009. Following his efforts a masters degree in intellectual property law was established at Tarbiat Modarres University in October 2003. He was the director of the Law Department from 2005 to 2008 and director of Intellectual Property Law Department from 2015 to 20121. He was a member of the Parliament of Iran representing Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Eslamshahr electoral district from May 2016 to May 2020.
