Motamedmanesh (b. Tehran, 1982) is an architect by training but a technologist in his thinking. He studied architecture in Tehran (University of Tehran, Master degree, 2008) and Berlin (TU Berlin, Dr.-Ing., 2019). He has been working in the development of architectural thought, aiming for incorporating the architectural technology and the humanities into architectural theory, as well as studying the construction history of ancient Persia. His doctoral thesis entitled The Influence of Architectural Form on the Development of Structural Systems underlines the necessity of rewriting the history of contemporary building systems from an architectural standpoint, and throws light on the invisible threads of psycho-socio-cultural aspects of human life that influence the progress of building technology. He is the initiator and among the founding members of ACHN (Asian Construction History Network), a scientific group devoted particularly to the study of building technology in Asia. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the School of Arts, Tarbiat Modares University in Iran. Motamedmanesh has professionally worked as an architect in different building cultures of Asia and Europe.
