    Journal PaperIranian Economic Review , 2020 May 17, {Pages }

    Abstract

    Reclassification risk is a downside for the insurance applicants in the face of a sharp increase in premiums due to the deterioration of individual health conditions. Guaranteed renewable (GR) health insurance directly protects the applicants against the mentioned risk. The reason for this support is the existence of a prepayment in the first insurance premium. Instead, the premiums in the next years are independent of the applicant’s future health. The current study aimed at evaluating the effect of providing this new insurance policy in the health insurance market of Iran on economic welfare of health insurance applicants. This evaluation was conducted in the form of two hypotheses, including "provision of GR insurance along with other

    Abstract

    The central bank is working to reform the structure of the banking system to bring the banking network in line with world standards. The banking network should strive to adapt itself to the modern world in terms of technology, procedures, and operations. The main prerequisite for this is central bank independence and structural reform of the country's budget. In the current situation, the Central Bank of Iran is severely restricted in pursuing monetary policy independently and in order to stabilize prices. The approach used in this research is game theory. This study attempts to describe and make a model the new interaction that has emerged in the current situation of the Iranian economy between the central bank as a monetary authority and

    Abstract

    Reduction in the access to health care services and spread of disease can have a negative effects on the economic growth and welfare of the community by reducing the labor force participation. Increasing government health expenditures is one of the ways to overcome these problems. However, implementing this policy, along with its positive effects, will have a negative impact on the effective labor supply of other sectors. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate these effects using a computable general equilibrium model based on the 2009 social accounting matrix of Iran. The results showed that illness, reduced welfare and real GDP, but increasing government health expenditures, increased welfare in the short run and long run.

    Abstract

    Global value chains are a complex product of the international fragmentation of production expansion that has revolutionized the production organization of the global economy and increased trade in services and intermediary goods. This new form of trade has allowed developing countries to benefit from international trade with specialization and comparative advantage in tasks, without having a comparative advantage in an entire industry. Given the increasing importance of global value chains, the goal of this paper is to analyze the position of the Iranian economy in the global value chains for 1990-2015. For this purpose, using the UNCTAD-EORA World Input-Output Tables, the indices of participation, position and length of value chain are c

    Analyzing Labor Productivity in Iranian Mines

    Journal PaperJournal of Mineral Resources Engineering , 2020 September 5, {Pages 37-52 }

    Abstract

    Mining is realized with employing labor. The labor in combination with machinery and energy can continue production and extraction. In this paper, through a review of the stylized facts in the Iranian mines under operation, first the effective factors on productivity are identified, and then, by specifying an econometric model, the impact of these factors on productivity is estimated over the period 1983-2017. Given the non-stationary variables, the Johansen-Juselius co-integration test confirms the existence of a long-run relationship among the variables. Accordingly, the share of skilled labor, private ownership of mines, per capita capital, and wages and salaries positively affect labor productivity in the Iranian mines. According to the
