Background: Due to the importance of self-regulated learning?in distance education (especially online learning environments),?researchers are constantly looking for a suitable instrument to?evaluate it more accurately. The purpose of this study was to?investigate validity and reliability of the Barnard’s et al (2009)?Online Self-Regulated Learning Questionnaire in Iranian context. Methods: The study was a descriptive survey that implemented a?correlational research design. The population of this study were all?postgraduate students enrolled in the online courses at universities?located in Tehran in the academic year 2017-2018. A sample of 450?students were selected by Cluster random sampling and responded?to the Barnard et al (2009) Online
This study is based on assessing the potential of augmented reality (AR) and infographics in science learning, emphasizing the synergistic effect on improving learning. The study investigates the impact of the combination of AR and infographic design on learning biology. Seventy-five 10th grade male students participated in this study, which employed a pre-test and post-test experimental design. After administering the pre-test, participants were randomly assigned to three groups; the first group used static infographics, the second group used infographics combined with AR, and the third group learned in an AR-based environment. While the results showed no significant difference between the mean of learning scores in the experimental Group
The present study investigates the nature of Iranian student teachers’ reflections and their professional development in the context of teacher education practicums. The participants were student teachers (N?=?41) enrolled in teacher education colleges at Farhangian University in Tehran, Iran. A total of 620 reflective writing excerpts were coded using deductive content analysis across three cohorts in three different practicums during a two-year period. To analyse the data, this study applied a rubric for evaluating student teachers’ reflections developed by Ward and McCotter. The analysis also involved Friedman’s test and follow-up Wilcoxon tests. The results show that routine levels of reflection significantly decreased across the
The purpose of the present research is to study the effects of educational multimedia in dictation and its role in improving dysgraphia in students with dictation difficulty. Research methodology is categorized as being quasi-experimental. The statistical population of the study includes students with dictation difficulty of the second grade of primary schools of Arak in the 2011-2012 academic year. The population (including 39 students) is selected through utilization of Poisson sampling procedure. From the designated sample, 20 members are selected to be put in the experiment group and the remaining 19 members are put in the control group. Clinical interview, dictation test, and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) ar
The goal of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of instructional computer games on academic achievement and attitude of forth grade students towards science learning in the city of Arak. The method being used in this research is semi-experimental research method and the research pattern is of two group pattern with pre-test and post-test. The statistical population is of 1836 students in the fourth grade of primary schools in Arak city during academic year of 1390-91. Based on random stratified sampling method Forty students are selected; 20 of them being placed in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. Thus, 10 topics are selected from the 4th grade science book and computer games are produced out of those to
Teaching students with sensory disabilities have always been of interest to scholars and educational experts. One of the sensory disabilities is blindness. It should be noted that traditional methods of training these individuals do not have the necessary efficiency and it causes the reduction of motivation in the students. Thus, an evolutionary approach is necessary. Most computer games as interactive digital media in teaching the blind are considered to be an evolutionary approach to present. The aim of this research is to study the role of educational computer games and to present the principles of designing these games for teaching the blind. Some of the instances where these games can be used teaching the blind, include strengthening t
The purpose of this study is to produce? Dicteyar Educational Multimedia Effectiveness on? improving? Dysgraphia students ‘Auditory and Visual? Memory Problems in? learninig spelling. An quasi-experimental research method and two-groups with pre-test and post-test research design are? used. The statistical universe? contain Dysgraphia students? in the second grade of primary schools in Arak province during academic year of 1390-91. Among these students, 20 persons in experimental group and 19 persons in control group were randomly replaced. In 15 sessions, Students in experimental group were trained by Dicteyar and control group were trained by the traditional method. Revised Wexler Scale, clinical interviews and spelling test wrer used t
