The Department of Animation and Cinema of the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Tarbiat Modares University was established in 1996. This educational group was formed with the aim of developing and promoting students at both theoretical and practical levels, and in line with the policies of the Ministry of Science, to train committed and expert artists. Faculty members and professors invited to the group are trying to use the latest ideas in the field of animation and cinema to raise the awareness of students in film and animation production as well as the analytical approaches of the relevant fields. So that students can make effective films in addition to theoretical knowledge.
In addition to publishing numerous articles and books, the graduate students of this group have been able to receive many national and international awards from various domestic and foreign film festivals. Also, the presence of graduates of this department in the field of film production and teaching throughout the country is very impressive. The scientific association of students of this group is known as one of the most active scientific associations of the country and organizes many meetings and workshops with the presence of national and international experts throughout the year. The professors of the animation and cinema department have an active presence in the scientific and artistic gatherings of the country and have published numerous articles and books in different fields. The educational spaces of the animation and cinema department include a television studio with many facilities and equipment, a computer Lab and a puppet Animation Lab for animation and cinema.
